Away With Leeching

This is the result of two years tracking down the best labels and advertising from the Snake Oil Era (c 1850-1940) The research showed target demographics were almost equally split among the sexes. My response was to build male and female figure from unchanged original labels.

It took a while, but it was pure fun reading all these labels, Heroin, Cocaine, Cannabis, Laudanum, Opium, and lot’s of Moonshine. Plus the gadgets, electro magnetism, x-rays, UV light, it’s a picture of America in it’s rambunctious adolescence.
